CUTTING AND BINDINGAtelier Maude Renevier, Collectif Kimera, Elisa Bonami

Collectif Kimera composes of 10 bellies holding an endless number of culinary delights, memories and reflections. For them, the act of cooking and sharing meals stands as a highlight for mutual exchange and care. Using food beyond sustenance, it acts as an ingredient in cooking one’s cultural heritage and memories, being an edible memory. A way to voice in harmony, bring all flavours of Kimera together, to ground themselves in the present, within the collective and by extension within society.
Recipes are rituals, created together from experiences and memories, capable of evoking and creating the smell of emotions. They are the palates through which one connects and acts as the utensils to engage in collective reflection.
All good dishes take time and care, and so does this one of edible memories with this ever-growing recipe book as the vessel. It acts as a way to contain, archive and convey the warmth of Collectif Kimera’s shared meals and moments. It includes a few reflections, as a complementing flavour, in the form of two essays, from collective member, Ankita and guest artist, Pallavi Keshri
